Resolved Question: Do many people not know Asians had African slaves just like Europeans did?

Could also explain why many Indians are DARK skinned (because off the African admixture) and also explain the caste system in India, started by whites. Because India was probably originally white people(like people of UK white skinned). The reason many now are dark is becaues of the African in them, that they don't like to claim. Same with many other Asians. like Chinese facial shapes..etc Even though i knew this because of my African history class, i need to explain go out of my way and find sources for ignorant people on here who tend to ask for them, knowing that they will disregard the sources provided unless it supports their ideas Some Sources: Arab slave traders also brought slaves as early as the first century AD from Africa. Most of the African slaves were brought however in the 17th century and were taken into Western India. The Siddi people are of mainly East African descent. Much of the northern and central parts of the subcontinent was ruled by the so-called Slave Dynasty of Turkic origin from 1206-1290: Qutb-ud-din Aybak, a slave of Muhammad Ghori rose to power following his master's death. For almost a century, his descendants ruled presiding over the introduction of Tankas and building of Qutub Minar. According to Sir Henry Bartle Frere (who sat on the Viceroy's Council), there were an estimated 8,000,000 or 9,000,000 slaves in India in 1841. In Malabar, about 15% of the population were slaves. Slavery was abolished in both Hindu and Muslim India by the Indian Slavery Act V. of 1843. Provisions of the Indian Penal Code of 1861 effectively abolished slavery in India by making the enslavement of human beings a criminal offense.[224][225 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_... scroll down to ASIA Reference to period Tang (618-907) to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) "Beginning in the Tang dynasty, Arab traders brought a number of East African slaves to China. From the eighth to the fourteenth centuries; the Arabs controlled this vast slave trade, which stretched not only along the entire coast of East Africa and throughout the Arab world but as far east as China. Black slaves were just one of many commodities in the Arabs' large-scale maritime trade with China, which peaked during the Tang and Song dynasty (960-1275). The Jiu Tang shu (Former Tang history) mentions that the Arabs sent delegates to the Chinese court in 651, marking the first recorded official contact between the Chinese government and the Arab caliphate. By the ninth century, a sizable community of Arabs lived in Guangzhou, and the local residents could have seen African slaves on trading ships and in Arab homes. Some wealthy Chinese people even owned African slaves, whom they used as doorkeepers." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Slavery/Archive1 more

Resolved Question: Carthaginian engineers...research paper?

Carthaginian engineers The Carthaginian well they go way, way beck to the ninth century B.C. The colonists from Tyre, led by Princess Dido, which they founded the ancient Phoenician port of Carthage in North Africa. The city developed an extensive commercial network throughout the Mediterranean, after the capture of Tyre by the Babylonians in the sixth century BC, Carthage assumed leadership of Phoenician colonies in North Africa and Spain. Carthaginian engineers harnessed their extensive resources and manpower to develop some of the ancient world's most groundbreaking technology, and it wasn’t easy because they really had to work hard for all the beautiful stuff they did. The city was the first in the whole in tired world to have indoor plumbing whitch was pretty amazing because they were the first people to have it, it supplied a constant stream of water to the first ever high-rise apartment towers. Carthage was protected by an enormous Harbour that held hundreds of war sin 145 BC, Rome emerged victorious. Around 45 B.C Roman colonists settled in Carthage, and it became the wealthy center of the province of Africa hips. To protect the capital, an intricate series of fortifications were erected that stretched for more than 23 miles, and housed a standing army of more than 20,000 men. Hannibal was born in 247 B.C, when Carthage, then the greatest maritime power, was beginning to decline. The Carthaginians were the descendants of the Phoenicians, a Negroid people, who were great merchants. They traded with India, the peoples of the Mediterranean, and the Scilly Isles. They founded Carthage as a central base for this commerce, the Phoenicians, like most commercial peoples, were not warriors. Their immense wealth and their luxurious manner of living had rendered them still softer. It was inevitable that they should inspire plunder in the heart of their powerful neighbor, Rome, which was less than a hundred miles across the Mediterranean. Rome, then in the prime of her youth, had concentrated on military power. more

Resolved Question: Top 10 International World's Strongest Militaries are:-?

1 - United States of America It's manufacturing capabilities coupled with sheer numbers, advanced technology and nuclear capabilities keep the US on top. 48/60 2 - Russia Though dwindled since the Cold War, Russia's numbers and nuclear capabilities keep it on top as the second most powerful army in the world. 37/60 3 - Germany Surprising to find Germany this high on the list but it maintains a stellar peacekeeping force for itself - plus it does not maintain any costly overseas stations. 33/60 4 - China Overall numbers and the possibility of nuclear capability rank China high on the list, but the fact remains that most of the force is untested in global conflicts, their equipment remains dated and forced conscription takes its toll. 32/60 5 - France and Pakistan Tie France maintains units for self-defence and peacekeeping missions of its former colonies. Other than that, its primary force is more for its own protection than anything else, having been invaded by Germany twice in the 20th century. Nonetheless, its nuclear capabilities, strong commitment to maritime and defense, and a steady military keep it in the top ten. 31/60 Pakistan's recent experience as a US ally and its build up against India help it score well. It combats internal terrorism regularly but none-the-less maintains support through the US. 31/60 6 - South Korea Build up over recent years and following up on their own military technology avenues, South Korea is a major player in todays military world. It's support from the US doesn't hurt its ranking either and the provided equipment and training gives it an edge over its northern aggressor. 30/60 7 - Iran Iran's manpower and supposed nuclear capability rank it in the top ten, but its dated equipment and lack of recent experience bring it out of the top 5. 29/60 8 - India The build up against Pakistan continues but the Indian armies use dated equipment and lack any recent major military engagements. Nuclear probablity helps its rank. 29/60 9 - UK (Britain) Once a strong proud world power, the UK maintains a simple fighting force keeping the US as a major ally. It has allocated units in a few global hotspots. 27/60 10 - Israel Manpower, sheer numbers and experience rank the Israeli armies among the top in the world. 26/60  more

Resolved Question: What is the standard of judiciary-service to the common man?

First of all, may I ask the governance of our nation, as to why the welfare of the Seafarers of India are neglected, though they are Indian citizen, who brings in considerable foreign-exchange to their country of origin. Should the nation continue to neglect them? It is high time that the Directorate General of Shipping be committed to view the valid contents appearing in the “Marine Waves" (A Govt. of India’s registered monthly magazine) e.g. May 2008 Issue, wherein published of the CDC Scam, an employee ( Shipping Corpn. of India, Mumbai.), heartlessly thrown out of service while in a public sector, like a fish out of water, for no fault of his, but for being a whistle-blower and the case of a seafarer picked up by Indian Coast-guard from sea, from a sunken vessel etc. all reflecting upon the genuine deficiencies and defects in the policy, system and procedures thus the genuine grievance of seafarers being continuously neglected. While this is the poor state of an organised public sector in India , why boast of working out schemes to benefit the un-organised workers. Is it not mudslinging to the eyes of the public (citizens of India ), for the politicians to fill their coffers? Why the national maritime administration (office of the DGS) not poised for an overhaul to meet to the times, when INDIA is known for “Knowledge Management”. more

Despite largely successful efforts at economic diversification, nearly 40% of GDP is still directly based on oil and gas output. Since the discovery of oil in the UAE more than 30 years ago, the UAE has undergone a profound transformation from an impoverished region of small desert principalities to a modern state with a high standard of living. The government has increased spending on job creation and infrastructure expansion and is opening up utilities to greater private sector involvement. In April 2004, the UAE signed a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement with Washington and in November 2004 agreed to undertake negotiations toward a Free Trade Agreement with the US. The country's Free Trade Zones - offering 100% foreign ownership and zero taxes - are helping to attract foreign investors. Higher oil revenue, strong liquidity, housing shortages, and cheap credit in 2005-07 led to a surge in asset prices (shares and real estate) and consumer inflation. Rising prices are increasing the operating costs for businesses in the UAE and adversely impacting government employees and others on fixed incomes. Dependence on oil and a large expatriate workforce are significant long-term challenges. The UAE's strategic plan for the next few years focuses on diversification and creating more opportunities for nationals through improved education and increased private sector employment. Resolved Question: China - Tibet conflict. Why does India support Tibet & anger the Chinese?

China - Tibet conflict. Why does India support Tibet & anger the Chinese? Dalai Lama has been residing in India since 1959 & has been creating troubles in Tibet since then. I fail to understand why on earth would India continue his political asylum & anger the Chinese? After all, this would lead to instability in Asia and could have immense effects world-wide. Moreover, what’s the big deal in Tibet being a part of China? After all, its nothing more than a landscape. Additionally, China is a nuclear power with deadly nuclear striking capability. In 2 previous occasions in war, CHINA comprehensively defeated India. Don’t the Indians ever learn? PS: I recently read that India has only 1 aircraft carrier (Viraat), and that too is currently languishing in the dock. With no aircraft carrier to support maritime defenses (Until 2010 when the Russians are providing India with Admiral Gorshov), isn’t this the best time for China to attack India?
